Project Overview

The LA 19 project is part of the Comite River Diversion Program and includes construction of a new approximately 300-foot-long bridge over the future diversion channel along the existing highway alignment. Major work elements included bridge construction, channel excavation, roadway reconstruction, revetment installation, wick drains and surcharge embankments, and a temporary at-grade railroad shoofly to maintain rail operations during construction.
